I would like to announce the addition of two new courses in the course catalog

We are constantly working on more course content, based on your suggestions. We have had several requests for courses on differential equations, which is why we started developing a series of courses on that topic. Please, if there is some course you would like to see us develop, let us know. The more feedback we get the better we can plan and prioritize new course development.

Course Announcement

The following course has been added to the LearningMeasure.com course catalog:

  • MATH201 - First Order Differential Equations

This is the second course in a planned series of courses to cover the topic. There have been some long-standing requests for such a series of courses. The remainder of the series will be released one course at a time as they are developed. The next course planned for this series is on applications of first order ODEs.

As always, we seek your feedback on what courses to develop, and what priority is placed on developing a particular course. If you would like to see a particular course developed, please let us know. The more requests, the more likely it is to move to the top of the list to be developed.

Progress on LearningMeasure.com

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

We have made some more changes to the homepage of LearningMeasure.com. It is now possible to register as a student on the homepage if desired.

A new category of classes have been added to the course catalog. The first in a series of fundamental physics classes has been entered. It has been requested that some of the basic physics that are the foundation of measurement be included in some of the course material. We plan on a fairly extensive series of basic physics courses to be developed over the next few years, in addition to other courses on our list. The first class in this section of the course catalog is

PHYS50 -  Introduction to Vectors

A vector quantity is one that has magnitude and direction. This course covers some of the basics of vectors and mathematical operations that can be performed on them.

The following course has been added to the course catalog

This is a course on the OSHA required hazardous communications standard. In all measurement laboratories there will exist some hazardous materials, and one will need appropriate training in order to maintain a safe work environment.
This is the first course in a new section of the course catalog, Safety. There are other safety courses that are planned, but they are considered low priority, and only will be worked at a low rate.

I would like to announce the following course added to the LearningMeasure.com course catalog:

This completes the series on the seven basic tools of quality. This course also is part of the ASQ CCT Preparation Program.

MIL-STD-461 Program Complete

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

The following course has been added to the course catalog

This is the final course in the MIL-STD-461 measurement program. To sign up for all courses in the program click

It is our hope that these courses are useful to you, and the reason they are in the course catalog to begin with is because some of you requested these courses be developed. We would like more feedback on the type of courses you like to see us develop. Currently the most requests are for more RF courses, more programming courses, and some basic physics courses. Please comment on what courses and training programs you would like to see develop, or give us feedback on existing courses so that we can make this service more useful to you.

The following course has been added to the LearningMeasure.com course catalog:

This is the third in a series of four courses on MIL-STD-461 measurements. The topic of this course is CS or conducted susceptibility measurements that are called for in MIL-STD-461.

Two courses have recently been added to the LearningMeasure.com course catalog. These courses are

The first has been a course that we have been asked to develop in the past. We plan on putting together a few more C programming courses if there continues to be interest.

The second course is another in our instrumentation series of courses that obviously concerns the types and specifications of amplifiers.

Currently it looks as if the third course in the MIL-STD-461 measurement series will be the next course to be completed of the courses under development, followed by probably a course on oscilloscope probes and a course on operational amplifiers.

As always, we seek your feedback on which courses to put our resources into developing. Let us know if there is a course you would like to see us develop. If it is consistent with the types of courses we are trying to provide, then we will add it to our list of courses to develop, and assign it a priority based on the number of requests.
